BETANIA – PILGRIM HOUSE
Betania Pilgrim House is the oldest pilgrim house in the sanctuary. It is situated in the oldest sanctuary part, in the vicinity of Saint Dorothy Church wherein Our Lady of Sorrows Icon had been kept before it was moved to the Basilica of Our Lady of Sorrows.
Betania Pilgrim House embraces 508 rooms with 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 beds. Double rooms have separate bathrooms. Other rooms have access to shared bathrooms from corridors. The rooms with 5 and 6 beds offer bunk beds.
Nearby Betania there is a small parish retreats house. It is an ideal place for organised pilgrim groups which plan to stay in Licheń for a longer period of time and undergo parish retreats there. The parish retreats house incorporates a small chapel which may serve as a place for prayers and formation meetings. In the building there are 71 rooms with 2, 3, 4 and 5 beds. The offer incudes also studio rooms – and so, two rooms have a shared bathroom and a small corridor.
Betania is just a few steps far from the Papal Apartments wherein Pope John Paul II stayed during his visit within 6-8 of June 1999. In the vicinity there is also Golgotha and Saint Dorothy and Saint Mary of Częstochowa Church with Saint Cross Chapel.
